VISION
The P.G. Department of Philosophy is committed to strengthening its commitment to student’s success and broadening its recognition for excellence in teaching and community service. The vision of M.A. programs in philosophy is to provide students with a comprehensive and advanced understanding of philosophical concepts, theories and methods.

- Explore Diverse Philosophical Traditions: Provide a broad exposure to various philosophical traditions, from ancient to contemporary, western and non- western, promoting a global perspective.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOME
After successful completion of two-year master programme in Philosophy a student should be able to:
PSO1: Profound understanding of specific philosophical themes or issues, like existentialism, environmental ethics, or social justice.
PSO2; Proficiency in reading philosophical texts in multiple languages, particularly relevant for programmes with a focus on non-western philosophical traditions.
PSO3: The ability to engage in interdisciplinary work, applying philosophical perspectives to other fields, such as science, literature or technology.
PSO4: The capacity to conduct original research and make meaningful contributions to the field through published articles, conference presentations or philosophical dialogues.
PSO5: The development of ethical leadership skills for roles in ethics committees, public policy or advocacy organizations.
These above special outcomes can be tailored to the specific focus and objectives of the M.A. program in philosophy, and they enable the students to make unique contributions to their chosen area of philosophy or to apply philosophical insights to other domains of knowledge and practice

MEASURES TAKEN BY THE DEPARTMENT TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF STUDENT
- Improve student’s performance by taking extra-classes.
- Enhancement of knowledge by organizing regular seminars
- Increase the attendance of students in classes by taking proctorial classes.
- Received suggestions from parents by organizing parent-teacher meetings
- Organizing annual seminars in the department every year.
- To groom students to compute at national and global level.
- Adoption of interactive method to improve student learning.
- Distribution of Hand- outs in every class to Honors students.
- Invited eminent persons to seminars for increasing knowledge.
- Encourage students to participate in different institutional and social activities.
- Organizing mentor-mentee meeting regularly for discussing about the problems of students and acted regarding the same.
- The department has a seminar Library with – Books for circulating among student and teaching faculty. Reference books are also there in the Library.
- The department also has a huge collection of e-books, articles and journals for betterment of the students and teachers both.
Parent teacher meeting is held time to time in each academic session for all the 3 years Honors batch. In the current academic session such meeting was held time to time. The purpose of such interactions is to create academic awareness among students and to make it more effective through parental alertness and co-operation.
