Description of Programme Outcomes of UG Commerce:
After completion of the Undergraduate Program in Commerce the students will be able to:
PO 01: Social Relevance: Through commerce education, students are exposed to the environment of the business world. It enables the importance of smearing economic ideologies while making business decisions.
PO 02: Critical thinking: It allows the students to analyse the actions so that they can alter them to serve for better purpose. It will guarantee objective and efficient problem solving, ultimately reducing costly errors and ensuring widely usage of resources.
PO 03: Effective learning: Transform and empower women graduates to meet global challenges through holistic education in terms of recent Teaching-Learning methodologies.
PO 04: Communication Skills: Ability to communicate long standing unsolved problems and ability to show the importance of commerce as precursor to various market developments since the beginning of civilization.
PO 05: Social Interaction: Heighten the conscious of the graduates on socio-economic concern and to evolve it as an in-built mechanism to chisel as better human being.
PO 06: Environment and sustainability: Understand the issues of environmental contexts and demonstrate the knowledge for sustainable development.

Description of Programme Specific Outcomes of UG Commerce:
PSO1: Apply different concepts in starting and managing business and realize the social responsibilities, social realities and inculcate an essential value system.
PSO2: Solve problems related to employer, employee, investors and consumers with legal protection.
PSO3: Prepare financial statements of business using accounting principles, concepts, conventions and provisions.
PSO4: Develop necessary professional knowledge and skills in finance and taxation.
PSO5: Implement traditional and modern strategies and practices of costing, banking, economics, marketing, management, auditing and taxation.
PSO6: Practice different techniques of communication and apply it in business and profession.
PSO7: Use mathematical and statistical tools in academics, business and research.
PSO8: Develop competency in students to make them employable in the global market.
PSO9: Develop the skills of students to equip themselves as successful entrepreneurs.
PSO10: Enhance practical knowledge to prepare various accounts in order to meet the national requirements.
PTM is conducted in each session to discuss about the academic activities, students’ performance and feedback is collected from parents regarding the different aspects of the department. The meetings are organised in both online and offline mode as per the convenience of the parents as many of them reside outside Cuttack and do not find it easy to come to the department physically. The interactions with parents have always been very positive for the progress of the learners, Teaching-learning process and the physical infrastructure available in the department.

The following activities foster leadership, core competencies, team spirit, skills and confidence among the students.
Seminars, webinars and extramural lectures are conducted in the department to promote interaction, presentation skills and stay connected with on-going activities in the scientific world.
Project works are distributed among the students to inculcate research values and promote analytical and problems solving skills.
Value added course on ‘E-filing of Income Tax Returns and GST’ is offered to enable the students have some basic skills required to work in industrial and business organisation.
Outreach programmes, field visits etc. are conducted to different institutes to provide wide exposure in the field of science and technology, industrial research etc.
Annual competitions in essay, debate, quiz, song, dance, seminar presentation etc. are conducted to promote cultural spirit.
Yuba Sanskar programme is conducted in which excellent video presentations are run to raise awareness regarding health, hygiene, preventing drug abuse, dealing with stress, depression, anxiety, Prevention of ragging, sexual harassment, prioritising work, practicing self-love, discipline, hard work, Gaining leadership qualities, Prevention of violence and exploitation against women etc.
Students are encouraged to participate in various extension activities and extracurricular events of the college.
From each class one student representative, one seminar secretary, one assistant seminar secretary are selected. This promotes leadership and other students are also inspired to work in a team.
Practical sessions help the students to get equipped with skills to handle instruments and learn better through experiential learning.
